Introduction to Science and Technology At the start of the year, we were introduced to science in a different way from how I had learnt it in primary school. Instead of science just being taught as any other subject to score well in, we were explained things like the 3 major elements that are involved in the study of science: Attitudes, Processes and Methods, and Products. We were also asked on the uses and limitations of science, which I would not have bothered to think of if not for this. In addition, we touched on the do's and don'ts in the science laboratory while learning the experimental apparatus and how they are used. Personally, I feel that the first part of this topic was relatively interesting, especially the case study on "The Tale of the Other Dog", which asked us what a good scientist was and whether the scientist (Pierre) was a good one. Also, it refreshed my memory on things that I had learnt before, including the scientific method (eg.question, hypothesis, conclusion etc.) However, I found it troublesome to memorise the uses and names of all the apparatus needed in a common science experiment, especially the flat and round-bottomed flasks, which looked almost exactly the same in "poorly" drawn experimental set-ups.
